These beautiful Belgians drew the sleigh on our visit
to the National Elk Refuge on a 30 degree, sunny day
in Jackson, Wyoming. They weigh 2,000 pounds each
and can pull up to three times their weight. We were
no challenge to their strength.
I can't turn away from any form of Shire Horse, but these are beautiful and seem functional to boot, and they love to work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful horses . . . but it looks so cold.
ReplyDeleteThere is just nothing like horse-drawn transportation.
ReplyDeleteI really love these horses and you've captured them well.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous creatures with their winter coats. What a fun thing to do!
