#296 Tables
Just some of the tables at this weekend's church yard sale. I think I counted twelve tables. The rest of the stuff was scattered on the lawn and sidewalk. I would be surprised if we sold 10% of the clothing. One of our church members said they used to give away all the clothing they collected. I'm thinking that's a good idea.It was a LOT of work but I'm glad to report that we collected $600 for Week of Compassion, an ecumenical world relief organization. It's such a drop in the bucket for places like Haiti and Somalia but every little bit helps.

Good job. I just hauled four giant trash bags full of clothes out of my house for donation. Many more to go. I also am bringing the books to the women's shelter because they got excited last time I did that - most people just bring clothes.
ReplyDeleteVery worthwhile project.
ReplyDeleteGood to see everyone worked hard for a good cause. So often we forget to give things away, what a wonderful idea to give a hand up!
ReplyDeleteWin-win when one can clean out the unused items and have them go for a good cause. We have several thrifts that benefit good causes and so instead of bothering with rummage sales, we just pick a thrift store and give it away. I've also given kid's coats to schools as they usually will know of kids in need and get them to some who might otherwise go without warmth.
