#315 The Letter N

"N" for Nursery - the flamingo nursery at the zoo. I see about four, maybe five different ages being cared for by these exceptional, long-legged birds, including an unhatched egg. Flamingos aren't indigenous to the West so this is my first time to see real ones.

  1. Flamingos are so pretty. There were three by my friend's house in the Caribbean. We used to try to spot them on the lake on the way to the beach every day. I like how this is a multi-generational space.

  6. Oh, how sweet...and it's interesting to see that the little ones are grey. I was surprised to learn that flamingos are not actually pink; they turn that way from the shrimp they eat. seems it's so!
