#260 Shapes in Nature

These smooth, rope-shaped hardened lava rocks are called pahoehoe. This lava flows smoothly and is not as heavy as the 'a'a type lava.

    Pahoehoe is a fun word to say. I would have never guessed this is in Idaho.

    I had no idea there were lava flows in Idaho! This looks almost like gnarled tree roots.
